The first extension of the best selling video game franchise, Zumba Kids is custom designed for kids aged 7 12 with fun routines, energizing music, engaging mini games and creative modes that encourage the entire family to join the party. Kids build self confidence and have a blast as they discover new rhythms in an interactive experience that makes them (and their parents) feel good as they stay fit.

I admit, I bought this for myself mostly. I had looked at the other Zumba games and saw that most of them were not for beginners. I hoped this one appealed to my kids and myself and get us moving.

The songs are all medium intensity, which was a little intimidating at first, but some of them have easier moves than others. Also, depending on the song, the steps start out slow and then get faster. I wish there had been a warm up or a tutorial for the different types of steps but I'll get it eventually!

The mini-games are hidden in freestyle mode. At first I was looking all over the place for them as something separate, but they are a part of the freestyle dance. You pick the song and dance however you want. There's a little bar to fill up and once you fill it up, it will give you a mini-game. We found that it was important to move both your arms and legs to keep the bar filled up.

You get points for completing songs and there are lots of things to unlock. I recommend you pick up your first challenge, Get 100 Points, before you start dancing. That way your first dances will count towards the goal.

The game is really forgiving with the moves. Even with my horrible interpretations of the moves at times, it wasn't too hard to get 5 stars. This is all Kinect based, so you can't choose a song with your controller. That was something I missed a little bit, but other people may not mind.
